Governance

This section covers information relating to the way the College is governed and how decisions are made. It includes information on the legal status of the College, which individual member of staff or group within the organisation is responsible for specific functions and where they fit in the overall structure of the organisation.

It is a partner college of the UHI Millennium Institute (UHI).
Governance Structure The College's governance structures and operational procedures

Compliance with government legislation and with the requirements of the Scottish Funding Council and other statutory bodies is the responsibility of the Board of Management. The Board exercises its responsibility through the Principal, who is the Chief Executive of the College and the Accountable Officer.

 

The arrangements for appointment to the Board of Management are contained in its Standing Orders. These, together with details of the current membership of the Board and related documents are available on the College web-site.

Conflict of interests The College's conflict of interests policies Details of these policies are available from the Secretary to the Board of Management, Mrs Sandra McCall.
Register of interests The College Register of Interests  The Register of Interests for members of the governing body, is available on the College web-site. Members of the Senior Management Team and any other members of staff who have interests which may at any time conflict with those of the College are required to declare these in the Register of Staff Interests.

 Major committees  The activities of major committees with devolved decision-making powers  

The main committees with devolved decision-making powers can be found at the Board of Management section of the College web-site. Details of how to obtain information and Minutes of meetings of the Board and its committees are included on that site, together with the Schedule of Meetings 2009-10.

 

The Academic Board deals with curriculum related matters and has a number of committees which report to it. Copies of the Minutes of these committees are available from the Secretary to the Board of Management, Mrs Sandra McCall.
