a- ( followed by hyphen)
GOC recommended that expressions constituting a unit should be hyphenated.
e.g.

  • a-mach
  • a-steach
  • a-muigh
  • a-nall
  • a-null
  • a-rithist
  • a-nis

Note other hyphenation rules in suffixes and multi-syllable words.
