More Prepositions:

  • de, den, - of
    • one of the stones - aon (or tè) de na clachan
    • this time of day - an àm seo den là

    de sometimes becomes a (uair a thìde)
    de combines with mi, thu, i, e to become of/from me/you/her/him/us/you
    dhìom(sa), dhìot(sa), dhith(se), dheth(san), dhinn(e), dhibh(se)

  • gu, gus - to, up to, until
    • till the end of the day - gu deireadh an là
    • we’re about to leave - tha sinn gu falbh
    • till the next day - gus an ath là
    gu becomes chun in the genetive (see Module 3)
    gu combines with mi, thu, i, e to become to me/you/her/him/us/you
    thugam(sa) thugad(sa) etc
