This course is designed for those aiming at responsible posts in administration or office services, and for those already in employment.

Entry Requirements

Normally one of the following: a group of relevant NQ modules totalling at least 12 credits including Communication Int 2; a relevant Scottish Group Award; 2 relevant Higher Grade passes (including English); relevant previous experience.

ENTRY THROUGH RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
Applicants who have achieved competence at an appropriate level and in an appropriate range of skills through work experience will also be considered.

Mature applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements may be accepted on HN courses after an interview and individual guidance to ascertain their suitability for this level of course.

Description

This course is designed for those aiming at responsible posts in administration or office services, and for those already in employment.  It provides high levels of proficiency in Information Technology, Office Administration, Finance and Communication skills.

Studying for the HNC in Administration and Information Technology will offer the skills needed to become an effective practitioner in administration, Information Technology and management.  This qualification is newly designed to meet the needs of the contemporary working environment and is available at Lews Castle College as a full-time, one-year course or as a part-time course over two years.

Candidates will study 10 mandatory units and an additional 2 units from the optional units offered.
