The HNC Engineering Systems is designed to train technicians for design, research, development and service support activities in Engineering, Manufacturing and Consultancy. This course is designed to give the required base for progressing to HND Engineering Systems year 2 or as an excellent stand-alone, enhanced HNC Engineering Systems qualification.

One of the following:
- An appropriate programme of National Certificate modules, e.g. a Group Award in Engineering.
- Accredited industrial learning experience.
- Two passes at Higher, one of which should be mathematics, technological studies, physics or science.
- An equivalent qualification will be considered.

Description
The HNC Engineering Systems is designed to train technicians for design, research, development and service support activities in Engineering, Manufacturing and Consultancy.
Subjects studied include Engineering Principles, Statics and Strengths of Materials, Thermofluids, Design for Manufacture, Dynamics, Mathematics for Engineering 1: Mechanical and Manufacturing, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, Engineering Measurement and Systems Monitoring.
