This course is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to pursue a career in the Engineering industry and is a natural progression route from the NC Fabrication and Welding Engineering award currently offered at Lews Castle College.

Description
This course is designed to meet the needs of students wishing to continue to HNC Fabrication, Welding & Inspection, and/or gain employment in the expanding engineering industry. This course enables the student to gain an excellent background in Engineering Skills for entry into industry.
The course is made up of two major elements:
Wide range of workshop based activities designed to meet the needs of the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Performing Engineering Operations Level II award.
SQA units which develop an excellent underpinning knowledge in conjunction with the SVQ Level II award. The inclusion of these supplementary units allow progression to HNC.
