Applicants must be fluent in Gaelic and have a degree validated by a higher education institution in the United Kingdom. Experience of working with children in primary school or an evidence of an ability to work with people will be taken into consideration for selection.

PGDE Primary with Gaelic-medium pathway delivered in partnership with the University of the Highlands & Islands. The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) is a 36-week taught course that will prepare you for life as a teacher. Undertaking the Gaelic-medium education pathway will give graduates the chance to play their part in the regeneration of the Gaelic language.
This course marks a special collaboration between the University of Strathclyde and the University of the Highlands & Islands, which offers students the best combination of tried and tested teaching methodologies, cutting-edge knowledge and teaching opportunities in Gaelic schools to maximise their development.

Progression
Those successfully completing the course will be qualified to teach in either English or Gaelic-medium streams.
