Nurses will be eligible for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) as agreed by NHS Education for Scotland for entry into years two or three of the BA Health Studies depending on level of qualification

Description
The course focuses on contemporary health and community issues including psychology, health improvement and public health and health care ethics.
Year one is common to all courses, introducing the many factors that influence health and wellbeing. You can then progress to the generic, rural health or health and welfare strands of the degree.
Choice, flexibility, opportunity and diversity are just some elements of this course. Level 1 is common to the three strands of the course BA( Hons)Health Studies, BA( Hons)Health Studies (Health and Welfare), and BA ( Hons)Health Studies (Rural Health. For levels 2 and 3, there are common core modules, before students choose units in their specific areas of study or interest: Health Studies, Rural Health Studies or Health and Welfare Studies.
This course will be available online within a Virtual Learning Environment, with materials augmented by tutorials, seminars and group activities as appropriate. You can study this course from home, or from a learning centre. College attendance is not required but access to a PC is essential. All applicants should have the level of IT literacy required to study online.
The course is flexible and can be followed on a full-time or part-time basis. Some modules can be studied on a stand-alone basis. In this manner, the required credits for each level can be accrued flexibly.
Assessments will be through a series of assignments and formal examinations.
Exit points at the end of each level of the course will reward your hard work with a qualification. If you only wish to study one level, you can earn an HE Certificate in Health Studies, progressing to an HE Diploma in Health Studies, or Rural Health Studies, or Health and Welfare Studies after completing level 2. After level 3 you will earn a BA in Health Studies, or Rural Health Studies, or Health and Welfare Studies. After level 4 you will earn a BA (Hons) in Health Studies, or Rural Health Studies, or Health and Welfare Studies.
