Three Highers at grade C (should include English)or two A Levels at grade C

Nurses will be eligible for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) as agreed by NHS Education for Scotland for entry into years two or three of the BA Health Studies depending on level of qualification

Mature applicants with relevant experience, but without academic qualifications, may be considered

Candidates with relevant HNCs may be eligible for entry into year two

Candidates who have completed the Health Social and Child Studies Higher course

4 years, full-time by supported online learning, also available for part-time study.

The degree encompasses health care issues within the context of rurality, and issues affecting the quality of life for residents in rural areas.
In the course students will learn about the crucial link between health and the development and long-term sustainability of rural communities, whose needs have in the past been neglected in favour of those in urban areas. Graduates will be aware of the role of health development initiatives from policy to operational levels in the health maintenance and development of rural populations.
