FE Health Social and Child Studies Higher level

As well as preparing the candidate for entry to employment, the course also provides preparation for further study in health care for example, nurse training.

Entry Requirements

It is expected that candidates should have a minimum of four standard grades or equivalent.  The target students are: fifth and sixth year school leavers; adult returners; those seeking new skills; career changers.

1 Year Full-Time


Description

As well as preparing the candidate for entry to employment, the course also provides preparation for further study in health care for example, nurse training.  The course includes a number of science units and Early Years Care and Education Higher. It also includes the NC Health and Social Care level6 award.

Progression

Candidates who complete the Health Care Studies course might progress to: The Diploma in HE in Nursing or the BA Degree in Nursing; SVQs in Care and care-related areas; BA Health Studies; Employment.
