The completion of an appropriate NQ or access course.
Duration and Mode
The full-time course takes four years with completion of
year four taking you to Honours level; full time students
are required to complete 120 credits each year.
Part-time study available.
Description
This degree will provide you with:
- A detailed understanding of the practice of archaeology within Britain, Europe and the Atlantic region.
- Practical skills in archaeology through hands on experience.
- The opportunity to specialise in the archaeology of Scotland and of the Highlands and Islands in particular.
- The scope to select specialist skills-based modules covering specific aspects of archaeological practice.
How is the course taught?
The course covers a range of themes and issues in archaeology.
- Learning is through a combination of online materials, video conference tutorials, group work, and field schools.
- You can study at colleges throughout the Highlands and Islands including: Orkney, Perth, Moray, North Highland College, Inverness, Lews Castle College, Argyll College, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Shetland, and Highland Theological College.
- You can study full-time or part time.
