MA Professional Development
This course is concerned with different aspects of professional practice: teaching and learning, evaluating and improving your own practice, using new technologies, developing and managing learning resources, providing educational guidance, doing and supervising research, managing people and generally exercising professional judgement effectively and constructively.
BA Business & Management
The aim of the BA Business and Management course is to produce highly-motivated graduates with the skills, knowledge and abilities to progress to a wide range of employment contexts (management/administrative levels of employment in both the public and private sectors of the economy, self-employment) and further study opportunities.
Diploma in Management
The course is intended for those people who carry out policy in defined areas of authority; need to communicate effectively at various levels; allocate work to other people; need to use resources effectively to achieve specific results; control a limited budget.
HND Business
The award at Lews Castle College is offered using the following modes of delivery: Full-time, 2 year course at the Stornoway campus, part-time option also available.
HNC Business
The course aims to provide competences needed for entry-level administrative, managerial or commercial positions.
Supervisory Management
This course is designed to meet the needs of supervisors who wish to develop their management skills for career development.
Managing the Growing Enterprise
Applicants should be seeking to develop growth opportunities for an existing enterprise.
Developing an Enterprise Idea
Applicants should have an enterprise idea they are seeking to develop.
Planning & Delivering Learning Sessions to Groups
SCQF Level 6
Communication Units (Int. 1, 2 & Higher Level)
These are Core Skills units and are practical and internally assessed, as well as being nationally recognised.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
These units are currently being delivered as afternoon, evening and Saturday classes and the college is hoping to expand this provision.
