All-Energy Aberdeen 2012 - exhibition and conference
All-Energy Aberdeen 2012 - Exhibition and Conference | 23rd-24th May 2012
Four researchers from HebMarine and LCC Marketing organized and manned a conference exhibit at All-Energy Aberdeen 2012, the UK’s largest renewable event.
The purpose of the display was to promote Lews Castle College engineering, sustainability studies and research programmes as well as to network with others in energy research and industry. There was great interest from potential students through to peers from academia and data acquisition and wave power device developers.
The LCC contributors presented real-time wave data, computational model results and future work to interested students, researchers and industry representatives. This diverse mix of delegates enabled the team to discuss future opportunities and ideas spanning all forms of sustainable energy research. Following the initial presentation by Alex Salmond a series of wave and tidal seminars ensued where the HebMarine researchers displayed posters of their latest work.
The Lews Castle College booth was part of a larger stand made up of UHI partners from SAMS, Orkney College and ERI.
All in all it was a very positive event and a good platform for publicizing the Outer Hebrides, Lews Castle College and UHI.
