The recently published COOL 100 BOOK in an initiative to highlight how the task of switching to sustainable energy has been approached in a number of countries with isolated communities and/or cold climates .
Top energy company links up with Lews Castle College
Four Senior Managers from Schlumberger - one of the world's largest Energy Services Companies - visited Lews Castle College recently to help build relations between the two organisations. During the visit the company shared information on its current activities and plans to interested students and graduates. The managers also interviewed a number of candidates from the college for employment opportunities within the company.
BEng (Hons) Energy Engineering - New course
This new BEng (Hons) Energy Engineering has been developed at the University of the Highlands and Islands (in the North of Scotland) by Lews Castle College UHI to build on its highly successful HND courses and major investment in energy and engineering technologies. The course offers students the opportunity to study in a place with the best natural energy resources in Europe: the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
