Staff and students of LCC win a Danny Kyle award

Every year at Celtic Connections the cream of new musical talent perform at Danny Kyle's Open Stage. A diverse panel of judges - from industry stalwarts to members of the general public - then have the unenviable task of picking just six winners from the eighty acts who took part.

This year, Lurach was amongst the winners, a band who came together whilst they were students at Lews Castle College Benbecula.  They are Lucy MacRae (fiddle and vocals), Naomi Harvey (vocals and whistle) and Rachel Harris (flute and vocals).  Joining them on stage for the competition was Will Lamb (bouzouki, guitar and vocals).  The clip below shows them at the award ceremony, with former LCC student Matheu Watson on guitar filling in for Will.
