College Supports Tall Ships Trainees

College Supports Tall Ships Trainees

Lews Castle College returned to its original moto "Muir is Tir" this month with the support it has provided for 15 youngsters who are taking part in the TALL SHIPS race in July. The youngsters will join their ships in Greenock on July 11th and sail to Lerwick, stopping off in Stornoway for a day during the trip.

The latest group of trainees on the Merchant Vessel Operations course at Lews Castle College completed their studies this June. This year over 15 trainees completed and the vast majority are now embarking on a maritime career through cadetships with major companies such as Clyde Marine and the Ship Safe Training Group.
