Lews Castle College now has access to purpose-built student accommodation at the Bridge Centre in central Stornoway.

The main student accommodation base is THE BRIDGE CENTRE. 

Rear of the Bridge Centre


Situated on the harbour side in central Stornoway, THE BRIDGE CENTRE is less than 10 minutes walk from the college and the main facilities of the town.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, a study unit and internet access. In addition to this, there are also Sports and Games facilities located at the centre. These include snooker, computer games and a Sports Hall which can be accessed when not in use by community groups.

All Student Study Bedrooms rooms are single and en-suite [some with enhanced facilities for disabled students] .

The BRIDGE also offers the following facilities to students at the Centre :-

  • Music Rehearsal Room
  • Sports Hall
  • Tennis Court

Sports and Games Facilities can be booked with the Centre Management.

As well as these facilities Lewis also has active angling and sea angling clubs and associations.  The Sea Angling Club is within 10 minutes walk of the centre and details of the local angling association are available on arrival.

Students wishing to join local clubs or societies should ask at reception on registration and THE BRIDGE CENTRE staff will assist them to contact the relevant clubs.

Benbecula & Barra

Both the Uists and Barra offer a wide range of self-catering accommodation during term time.  Students can be provided with details of accommodation available
locally by the centre managers.
