About ILA Scotland
ILA Scotland is a Scottish Government scheme that helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place, pace and in a way to suit you. It’s for people who have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or who are on benefits.
There are two types of account available:
£200 accounts – If you are interested in learning something new or brushing up your skills. There is a wide range of courses available so why not search our courses to get an idea of what’s available. To find out more click here.£500 accounts – If you are studying a part-time higher education course such as an Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND) or a Degree course at ILA Scotland approved colleges or universities. You must be studying at least 40 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credits. The range of courses eligible for ILA500 funding have been widened to include part-time taught postgraduate courses at SCQF level 11, initially for academic year 2009 - 10 only, with a review at the end of the first year in light of economic conditions. Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning has announced a variety of changes to the ILA Scotland scheme that will provide increased support for individual and workforce development, throughout the current economic climate.
The changes, which will be available to learners from academic year 2009 -10, include:
