As well as providing students with a quality education at our new £13 Million campus, the college is equipped with state of the art Information Technology facilities.

Every student is allocated an Email address and can access the internet through our Resource Centre or Library based at the main campus. Students can also use the MyUHI Remote Desktop service to access their college files from anywhere.

Stornoway offers students a wide range of facilities:

Accommodation - The college now has access to purpose-built student accommodation at the Bridge Centre in central Stornoway only minutes from the College campus. There is also ample accommodation available both in Stornoway and the surrounding areas for students wishing to lodge or rent a flat.

Golf CourseSports - Lewis Sports Centre - including a Games hall, Gym, Squash courts, all weather pitch, swimming pool, track etc, Back Recreation Hall- Games Hall, all weather pitch. The Spors Nis centre in Ness is the islands latest sports hall with excellent facilities for all ages.
Stornoway Golf Course - 18 Hole golf course with excellent club house with facilities.

Shops - You will be surprised to know we have a Woolworths, Boots, Mackays, Co-op Superstore, Tesco Superstore, Superdrug and many more local shops.

Pubs - As well as local hotels there are numerous public houses in and around Stornoway.

Travel - There are regular ferries and flights to the islands.

Art & Culture - As well as An Lanntair Gallery in Stornoway there are various events held throughout the year including the famous Hebridean Celtic Festival.


Benbecula and the Uists offer students a wide range of facilities:

Accommodation - There is ample accommodation available both in Benbecula and the surrounding areas for students wishing to lodge or rent a flat. An accommodation list is available from the college if required.

Sports - Facilities at Sgoil Lionacleit community sports centre (next door to the Benbecula Campus) include swimming pool, sauna, sports hall, fitness suite, grass and all weather soccer surfaces. Uist Outdoor Centre in Lochmaddy offers a wide range of activities for walkers, climbers, canoeists etc.

Shops - The Uists have a good mix of general stores and some surprising specialist outlets, including second-hand books, jewellery, crafts etc.

Pubs - Over ten different hostelries spread throughout the islands.

Clubs- Sports clubs range from soccer to karate via scuba, athletics, angling and numerous others.

Travel - There are regular ferries and flights to the islands.

Art & Culture - The Uists have a very active arts and culture scene, supported in the main by vigorous voluntary associations. Taigh Chearsabhagh) and Ceolas are just two of the groups with which the college works closely in the fields of music and the visual arts.
