UNICREDS (University Collaboration in Regional Development Spaces) is an EU funded project involving regions from northern and eastern Europe. The project aims to develop high value, knowledge based economies in remote, rural and isolated areas through collaborative university structures and regional partnerships.
UNICREDS will construct a model of a new European concept of multi-centred, collaborative universities which link education and research with the needs of local authorities, businesses and communities in isolated regions. The UNICREDS model should be transferrable to other region wanting to develop high value knowledge economies.
The model will also inform future regional policy and programmes on the key issue of cohesion through knowledge.
