The course develops:

During your studies you will also develop skills in business, finance and enterprise and the University will support you in networking and communication skills to be able to access opportunities nationally and in Europe and the USA.

The new course is also designed to let you study where you want – it is based in the famous Benbecula campus of UHI Lews Castle College where Anna-Wendy Stevenson is the programme leader – but the course is also hosted by Colleges across the UHI, from Orkney to Perth and from Alness to Lochaber allowing you to choose to study at home, on-line and through video-conferencing and Skype for most of the academic year. Opportunities for Community groups Through Energy Storage (OCTES)

OCTES is a new European Union project with the aim of helping people living in remote communities to save money on their energy bills by encouraging them to use their electricity intelligently.  To help inform people living in remote communities of the current price of electricity, we at OCTES are undertaking a trial study by installing “SMART” meters in people’s houses which will continuously display the current price of electricity at that time.
