Lews Castle College UHI is the local college and university for the Outer Hebrides. The Outer Hebrides offer an excellent environment in which to live, work and learn. We have passionate and enthusiastic students and staff.

Our courses range from access programmes to doctorates. We aim to provide a first class learning experience using a variety of learning and teaching approaches.

Our mission is to deliver excellent learning and teaching, research and enterprise: locally, nationally, regionally and internationally. We are delighted that you are considering joining us as a student in 2016/17.

Our portfolio of courses continues to grow, putting us at the heart of further and higher education in the Outer Hebrides. Our degree courses allow you to gain higher level qualifications, through HNC, degrees, post-graduate degrees and doctorates.

In 2016/17 we will offer a number of new courses.

Students looking to improve their knowledge and skills in computing, multimedia and games design will find the new Multimedia and Games Design course an exciting option.

Progression to Engineering Degree Studies gives students the entry qualifications to degree level study in a range of engineering degrees by offering the opportunity to study Higher Maths and Physics along with other modules.

The National 5 Gateway offers a choice of subjects at National 5 including History, Maths, English, Physics, Psychology, Care, Administration and Gaelic.

The Highers Academy course offers students 9 Highers to choose from.

Both of the above courses will appeal to adult returners, or young people who may not wish to continue in school but want to achieve National 5 or Higher qualifications.

The new NPA in Construction will help students gain knowledge and skills in key construction trades. It is designed by industry leaders and recognised nationally as a pre-apprenticeship course in construction.

Jewellery NC Level 6 will teach student  skills and techniques necessary to create precious metal jewellery focussing on learning and developing practical jewellery making skills.

Please do look and see what we have to offer you for 2016/17.
