Business Administration with Information Technology NC

What is special about this course?

This is a one-year full time course which is designed for people who are looking to improve their knowledge and skills of administration, business and information technology. This course is a good stepping stone to HNC courses in administration and business related subjects. The course aims: 

  • To develop knowledge and skills in skills in office administration, enterprise, web design and IT. 
  • Equip students with the skills for progression to an HNC or higher qualification.

Candidates will complete a range of units including:

  • IT for Administrators
  • Marketing: Basic Principles
  • Event Organisation
  • Word Processing
  • Front of Office Skills
  • Web Design

This course is targeted at young people entering Further Education for the first time after leaving school and adults who are returning to full-time education or preparing for a career change.

Entry requirements

The course is delivered at SCQF levels 4 and 5 therefore candidates are expected to be educated to SCQF level 4, which could be demonstrated by having some of the following qualifications. 

  • A group of Standard Grades at General Level.
  • A group of National 4 qualifications.
  • A group of Intermediate Level 1 units.

Applications from adults without formal qualifications are welcome.

  • IT Solutions for Administrators

NPA Web Design Fundamentals

  • Interactive Multimedia for Web Development
  • Web Design and Development
  • Website Graphics

The Units in the NC lend themselves to practical methods of delivery and assessment. Specific learning and teaching methods will vary between and within Units, but there is a common thread of presenting them in a way which will engage the interest of learners.

Most full-time students will have their fees paid.

Students on part-time courses may also be eligible to have their course fees waived.
