What is special about this course?

While it sometimes feels like our favourite songs appeared out of nowhere to mend our broken hearts or get our party guests on the dance floor, each one was carefully and deliberately crafted by a songwriter. Chords are one of the building blocks of a song, and songwriters can use them to enrich their music. Join local singer/song writer Willie Campbell on this short course and learn how to turn simple ideas into songs. Willie will also be exploring the strong influences of Gaelic music and song and its long cultural heritage in the Outer Hebrides

No pre-requisites

Turning simple ideas students may have into songs. How to structure a song and how to make it memorable. Building confidence to present them. Recording a simple demo. A class co write.
