What is special about this course?
The aim of the course is to qualify and prepare students for employment and/or further training within Health, Social through the development of knowledge, skills and understanding required to work in the Care sector. A degree of maturity is demanded by some of the modules and is required in many areas of care practice. For this reason the course may be of particular interest to adult returners.
You should have a minimum of three Standard Grades at 3 or above, or three passes at National 4, or have successfully achieved the Health, Social & Child Studies Intermediate 2 or Level 5 course. We are also happy to consider applications from anyone who has relevant work experience and the proven academic ability to study at level 6. You will be required to become members of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme (PVG).

- Core Skills
- Guidance units
- Work placement
- NPA group award
How will I study my course?
- Full Time
Students will attend college 3 days a week. They will also spend two days each week for 36 weeks in a CnES agreed work placement.
The course will be delivered fulltime, 37 weeks, from September to June.
