The Library service is committed to supporting the college community by providing high quality, cost effective information and learning resource services through a range of media.


Please note - during the October break the library will be closed on Monday 16th October 2017. It will re-open Tuesday 17th - Friday 20th October 2017 from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Library will be open throughout the summer for study purposes.

There is a staffed late opening service on Tuesday until 7 pm (term time only). This is particularly useful for students who are unable to access the Library during normal opening hours who would like assistance.

For study purposes, the Library and the Learning Resource Centre are usually open outwith the Library staffed hours, depending on the opening hours of the College itself; please contact Lews Castle College reception for further details.

The Library is generally only closed on days indicated as support staff holidays on the College calendar. However, its opening hours and staff availability during other periods may be subject to occasional alteration; please contact the Library for further details prior to planning your visit.





Library self-service point


Our self-service point is now available for borrowing, renewing and returning books. Please feel free to try it, we are happy to show you can follow the on-screen instructions. To borrow or renew books using the self-service point you will need your student/staff card, however you can return books without your card.

Please note...our self-service system can not be used to Return books that are inter-site loans. These are books we have borrowed for you from another UHI partner Library. Please return these directly to Library staff or put them in the Library Book Returns box.
