Tha Colaisde a’ Chaisteil UHI toilichte Plana Ro-innleachdail na Gàidhlig a chur air bhog.

Tha an Ro-innleachdail ag amas air taic a thoirt don Ghàidhlig anns a’ Cholaisde fhèin agus anns na coimhearsnachdan.  Tha Colaisde a’ Chaisteil UHI, ann an co-bhoinn le buidhnean dualchais agus coimhearsnachd, a thilleadh air buidhnean poblach, an dùil obair a dh’ionnsaidh ar dualchas, is ar cànan a bhrosnachadh sna h-eileanan.

Thuirt Angela Weir, Ceannard na Gàidhlig aig Colaisde a’ Chaisteil, “Tha sinn air leth toilichte an ro-innleachd seo, a tha a’ mìneachadh mar a tha a’ Cholaisde an dùil obrachadh le coimhearsnachdan Gàidhlig gu h-ionadail agus gu nàiseanta, a chur air bhog.  Is ann tro cho-obrachadh is com-pàirteachas a thig adhartas agus tha a’ Cholaisde a’ dèanamh fiughar ri bhith ag obrachadh le buidhnean dualchais, coimhearsnachd agus poblach, gus ar cànan is ar dualchas a bhrosnachadh.”

Gabhaidh an tachartas àite air-loidhne air Diciadain 24mh Gearran aig 4f.   Cuiridh Dr Murdoch MacLeòid, a tha na bhall de Bhòrd Stiùiridh na Colaisde an ro-innleachd air bhog, agus bheir Dr Joni Bhochanan seachad òraid air a’ chuspair, ‘Coimhearsnachd Gàidhealach gu Coimhearsnachd iomadh-fhillte’.

Lews Castle College UHI to launch new Gaelic Strategy for 2020 - 23 with series of Gaelic community talks

The virtual event will take place on Wednesday 24th of Feb at 4pm

Lews Castle College UHI is delighted to launch its new Gaelic Strategy and Plan which aims to support the revitalisation of Gaelic language, culture and heritage within our island communities and beyond.

The Strategy outlines LCC UHI’s commitment to supporting the development of language skills and learning.   LCC UHI, together with heritage and community groups, as well as public bodies will work towards promoting our island heritage, in addition to providing learning opportunities throughout the Outer Hebrides.

Head of Gaelic at LCC UHI Angela Weir said, “We are delighted to be launching this new strategy which sets out how the College intends to work with Gaelic communities both locally and nationally. We are committed to supporting the acquisition of Gaelic language skills and promoting Gaelic usage.  LCC UHI look forward to working collaboratively with heritage and community groups, in addition to public bodies, in order to promote our language and heritage.”

The virtual event will take place on Wednesday 24th of Feb at 4pm and will see LCC UHI board member Dr Murdoch MacLeod introduce the Strategy, before local academic Dr Joni Buchanan launches the community talk series with her lecture entitled “Gàidhealtachd community to Shared space”.

This talk will be the first in a series hosted by LCC UHI featuring Gaelic speakers from communities throughout the Outer Hebrides.
