Strong links between schools and colleges help the learning and teaching in school to prepare young people for further qualifications and the world of work. Schools and the College work together to provide more choices for young people and help them to develop confidence and the skills for learning, life and work. We offer learners subjects in vocational pathways, SQA Highers and in a range of Further and Higher Education provision.
The School College partnership :
- Widens pupils' opportunities for progression and prepares them for further learning
- Eases pupils' transition from school to further learning, training or employment
- Broadens pupils' curriculum choices
- Enriches pupils' educational experiences
- Prepares young people for work
- Starts and builds careers
- Supports young people into positive destinations
The courses are delivered in College as well as schools, and some programmes are on-line. Being involved with studying at College as part of the school time table, makes it easier when the time comes for the transition from school to further learning or employment.
If you are still at school and unsure of what to do when you leave, why not experience further education at Lews Castle College UHI?
We can offer you a different learning environment to help you in your studies, whilst widening opportunities for progression and preparing you for further study. We can also give advice on career options that will help you to achieve your full potential.
