Rosie Blake

Site Leader of the BA (Hons) Fine Art, and a Lecturer on both the BA (Hons) and the NC Art and Design

Rosie attended the University of the Arts London and went on to study Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art.  She began teaching just a few months after graduation, as a visiting Lecturer on the Lens Based Media module at LCC in North Uist.  She went on to take up the permanent Lecturer post in November 2017.

Alongside teaching, Rosie loves working with photography, drawing, text, and printmaking. Her work is concerned with ecology, and human/nonhuman entanglements, and is underpinned by a deep interest in ecosystem theory.  She has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, including Glasgow, London, and South Korea.

Rosie has experience working in curation and studio management, with an emphasis on collaboration and development of supportive and inclusive artist spaces.  She managed an artist studio complex in Glasgow for several years, developing a collaborative environment for artists and practitioners.  She has worked in international artist residency exchange programmes, focussing on environmental concerns within the structure of artist residencies.  Rosie has contributed to various national and international publications and has work held in private collections throughout the country.
